Community Platform Product Manager

Job Summary:

The Conenza Product Manager is responsible for product planning of Conenza online community platforms and applications. This entails managing products throughout their lifecycles, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, driving prototyping process, and working closely with the UI/UX Director and development to deliver highly-engaging, compelling and competitive products that create value for both the user and the enterprise. This role also includes working with sales and account management to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are factored into product design. The Conenza Product Manager will also include ensuring that the product efforts support the company's overall strategy and goals and are adjusted as the market company strategy evolves.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and lead the analysis of the competitive environment, customer needs and value points, target prospects, and product metrics to determine the feature set to drive value for enterprise customers and active engagement by members in the communities while at the same time creating sustainable, profitable revenue streams for Conenza.
  • Drive global product requirements definition and product planning (including documentation of requirements) for new product enhancements, features, and releases for the Conenza online community platforms and applications.
  • Work with the UI/UX designers, prototyping resources, the development team and other cross-functional team members to prototype, gather feedback, hone and deliver new features and releases based on functional specs-- on schedule and budget.
  • Proactively lead the prioritization of enhanced functionality to ensure all products build trust, community, value and relationship with Conenza’s customers, prospects, partners and teammates.
  • Clearly articulate Conenza product benefits to community sponsors (customers), community members, partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in development of the overall product strategy and roadmap. Responsible for converting product strategy into compelling products and product enhancements.
  • Own and share fact- and observation-based customer and user insights that drive meaningful product differentiation and value/preference builders. Work in concert with cross-functional teammates (especially the marketing, technical and sales teams) to frame scope, timing and customer/prospect adoption of new features/offerings.
  • Work with product strategy to identify, assess and execute third party partnerships and licensing opportunities.

Key Position Objectives:

  • Determine and validate value propositions for community sponsors, members and partners.
  • Identify and implement product features which:
    • Result in the rapid growth of the number of community members, growth of revenues per member and reduction in the cost per member.
    • Ensure Conenza online communities are essential value-creators and employ uniquely-compelling and engaging features and capabilities for community sponsors and members; and
    • Increase transactions initiated through the online communities.
  • Effectively balance the requirements of corporate sponsors, member and third party partners.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills Required:

  • Strong online product insights – experience with B2B2C solutions, Web portals, subscription services, user-generated content, Web 2.0 applications and online communities.
  • High familiarity with online social networking; experience creating social networking communities/solutions a plus. At minimum, active user of online social networks.
  • End user focus – proven ability to drive rich, engaging user experience.
  • Enterprise product development – experience creating generalized requirements for enterprise customers.
  • Solutions-minded – ability to respond quickly to evolving business needs, priorities, and timelines.
  • Rapid development/prototyping process experience
  • Results-oriented – demonstrated track record of completing large-scale strategic and technical projects on time. Solid experience with analyzing and reporting on product success metrics.

Systems Engineer

Job Summary:

We are looking for a mid-level UNIX / Linux System Engineer to develop and manage highly complex, high availability data centers. This position will involve hands-on work supporting distributed web applications in a virtualized environment, supporting 24X7 operations and customer-facing systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop/improve our systems engineering support for our high-profile, Fortune 1000 level client base and applications
  • Support of our distributed web applications supporting a 24X7 operation
  • Overall design of networks and performance of system implementations for scalability and security
  • Collaboration with Software Engineering teams on functional, performance, security, and reliability issues
  • Assist in configuration management and capacity management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field
  • 5+ years as a UNIX/Linux System Engineer in highly complex, high availability data center or colo environment.
  • Experience in moving production systems from one facility and one IP space to another a plus.
  • Hands-on experience supporting distributed web applications in a virtualized environment, supporting a 24X7 operations and customer-facing systems.
  • Experience deploying and supporting virtualization technologies, including VMotion ; Experience with Linux on VMWare is preferred.
  • Outstanding security skills, including setting up and administration of Firewall devices,  Intrusion Detection Systems, and working with developers to ensure secure environments, working with 3rd party security specialists to conduct testing, and creating standards for security of all systems.
  • Strong experience in monitoring and management of systems using such tools as Nagios, MRTG, Cacti, and others, including monitoring hardware, operating systems, applications, and utilization levels
  • Experience with shell scripting and environmental configuration under Linux environments
  • Solid SAN administration and knowledge, including SAN switching and storage management
  • Deep knowledge of network-related concepts, such as routing and switching, firewall administration, and server load balancer administration
  • Experience in designing networks and system implementations for scalability and security including requirements gathering and documentation and collaboration with development, QA and other departments.
  • Experience with Backup and Recovery and Disaster Recovery / Business Continuence plans

Web UI Developer

Reports to:         Director of User-Experience/User-Interface

Job Summary:

This position will work to create the next generation of web based applications and prototypes for Conenza’s Alumni Community Platform.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Prototyping of highly dynamic web applications for user testing and demo purposes
  • Collaboration with product, UX/UI and dev teams to rapidly translate page and interaction designs into working prototypes
  • Revision of prototypes based on user and customer feedback
  • Translating web-based application designs accurately and seamlessly into codable prototypes for the development team through creative collaboration with product and UX/UI team

Requirements:

  • Ability to learn quickly: knowledge and experience are very helpful but ideas, passion, teamwork and openness to collaboration are essential
  • Exceptional drive for high quality, best-in class user interface
  • Ability to work with product teams to help understand and define requirements for prototypes
  • Strong JavaScript and HTML/DHTML/CSS skills
  • Proven experience with user-centered interaction design
